Pathways Program

Pathways Programs include federal internships and employment opportunities for current students, recent graduates, and those with an advanced degree. Pathways Programs include three different paths:

  1. Internship Program: The Internship Program is for current students. If you’re a current student in high school, college, trade school or other qualifying educational institution, you may be eligible.
  2. Recent Graduates Program: The recent graduate program is for those who have graduated, within the past two years, from a qualifying educational institution or certificate program. This program may be extended up to six years for veterans who meet certain criteria.
  3. Presidential Management Fellows Program: This program is for recent graduates with an advanced degree—either a professional or graduate degree such as a master’s, Ph.D., or J.D

Pathways participants are eligible for certain benefits based on the type of appointment and length of time in their position. The following benefits may be included upon conversion from an intern to a full-time federal employee.

  • Time off accrual
  • Life insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Federal holiday pay
  • Retirement plan
