BPA launched its new Energy Efficiency Tracking System known as BEETS last fall, and early results show significant improvements for customers compared to the previous solution.

Since the launch on Oct. 3, 2022, customers have reported over 7,000 energy efficiency measures and projects, resulting in over $7 million in EE incentive payments and 66 million kilowatt-hour savings processed. Much is due to the efficiencies of BEETS. Early results are show processing time reductions of 25% from initial submittal through payment to customers.

“This is a significant accomplishment for the Energy Efficiency organization,” said Jamae Hilliard Creecy, Energy Efficiency’s vice president. “BEETS is fundamental to modernizing BPA’s energy conservation reporting system, which benefits BPA and our customers. The project’s success is a testament to the value of effective collaboration and dedicated team work. Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting the new system online.”
Benefits of the new system include:
  • Automated workflows and data verification checks to help expedite processing.
  • Self-service, on-demand reporting for customers.
  • Visual dashboards with visibility into application progress, budget and payments.
  • Invoicing at the utility’s convenience.
  • Centralized data across application submittal, invoicing and performance payments.

BPA will continue to offer transition support to customers through spring 2023 and beyond.  More information about the system and transition resources can be found on the BEETS page on BPA.gov.
